Hero’ London bus driver sacked after chasing man who snatched woman’s necklace

A London bus driver hailed as a “hero” was dismissed from his job after he pursued and knocked out a man who had stolen a passenger’s necklace. Mark Hehir had been employed as a bus driver for Metroline in London for about two years prior to the incident. On June 25 2024, Mr Hehir was operating the 206 bus service, which travels between Wembley and Maida Vale in north-west London.
